The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.

Your Responsibilities

 

As a Part-Time Student - Manufacturing Engineering/Machining for Waterloo Works located in Waterloo, IA, you will...

 

Support multiple departments in daily functions.  Maintaining and updating existing tools, reports, and processes. Identify and implement cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas of limited scope Gather, review, and analyze information and assist on various projects as directed by Manufacturing Engineers. Assist with maintaining and updating routing, method, layout, tool, and quality plan documentation for current operations and/or new parts.

 

This position is NOT available to students on immigration visas.

What Skills You Need

 

Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in engineering, technology, or computer science; others may apply. Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited college/university Graduation date Spring 2026 or later Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above Available to work 16-20 hours/week during the academic year Available to work 35-40 hours/week during the summer semester Must be able to commute to the Waterloo, IA work location on daily basis Experience using Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint What Makes You Stand Out

 

Good interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills High level of attention to detail and accuracy Proficiency using CAD software, preferably Creo or AutoCAD Proficiency using Excel advanced functions such as macros or pivot tables Experience machining metal (turning, milling, drilling) Experience with interpreting part prints and GD&T designations Experience using Power BI, Tableau, or other data analysis tools Experience in using SAP
