All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regards to, among other things, race, religion, color, national origin, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, status as a protected veteran, or status as a qualified individual with disability._ **Primary Location:** United States (US) - Illinois - Moline **Function:** Quality Engineering **Title:** Part Time Student - Quality Engineering - East Moline, IL - 112587 **Onsite/Remote:** Onsite Position **Note: Relocation assistance is not provided.** _The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule_ **_YEAR-ROUND_** _._ **Your Responsibilities** As a **Quality Engineering Part Time Student** for **John Deere Harvester** located in **East Moline, IL** , you will: + Directly support manufacturing operations of a department - or departments + Use production and customer warranty data to investigate, contain, and resolve quality non conformances within the production process and supplied components + Manage daily quality calls from multiple product lines, determine root cause and implement both short term and long-term corrective actions for defects found in a timely manner + Provide clear and timely communication to management, operations and cross functional teams for active quality issues + Lead quality planning and execution discussions, including risk analysis, risk mitigation, control plans, dimensional analysis, and strategic quality improvements. Maintain current and historical quality performance documentation metrics + Lead and actively participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) process on the shop floor – improving and implementing departmental Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Delivery, Ergonomic and Cost reduction projects + Work closely with cross functional teams, suppliers and product design to drive inherent quality into our processes and products **This position is NOT available to students on immigration visas** **What Skills You Need** + Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Software Programming or Computer Science Discipline; Others may apply + Must be registered as a full-time student at a U.S. local accredited college/university. + Graduation date of Spring 2026 or later. + Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above. + Available to work during the academic year 16-20 hours/weekly. + Available to work during the summer semester 35-40 hours/weekly. + Must be able to commute to the work location in East Moline, IL on a daily basis year-round. **What Makes You Stand Out** + Demonstrated Ability to rapidly learn new technologies + Computer and/or Machine Programming Experience + Analytical Problem Solving Skills + Software & Technology Experience At John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go while working in an inclusive team environment.
