The Activities Coordinator will coordinate, organize and facilitate high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for psychiatrically hospitalized patients on 3 units. Social activities should impact patients’ well-being and create a more joyful and healing environment. Colleague should be a driven, structured and other positive addition to the team.
Responsibilities:
Plans and facilitates weekend recreational activities, ensuring continuous engagement and support for patients on the weekend. Activities can include but are not limited to board games, puzzles, movie nights, arts and crafts, creative writing, book club etc.
Colleague will be confident in their ability to lead a group of patients from varying backgrounds
Activities will be tailored to each unit and needs of the specific patient population
Colleague will have a sufficient understanding of unit safety protocols and incorporate them into their activities so as to avoid safety events on the unit
Activities will be coordinated and facilitated on each of the 3 inpatient psychiatric units including Geropsych, Adult Psych and Dual-Diagnosis unit (MICA)
Colleague will regularly track patient attendance in activity groups
Colleague will be proactive in establishing a schedule of activities each week to maintain structure and consistency for staff and patients
Colleague will collaborate with interdisciplinary team on scheduling and structuring activities
What you will need:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Service preferred.
Experience in activities coordination or group facilitation strongly preferred.
At least 1 year of experience in the mental health field.
Pay: $30
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
