Position Overview:
We are seeking a part-time weekend veterinary technician who will primarily be responsible for taking radiographs and assisting in our emergency room. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about animal care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform high-quality radiographs with precision and care.
• Assist veterinarians and other technicians in the ER with various procedures.
• Monitor and care for patients before, during, and after radiographic procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all radiographic equipment is in good working order.
• Provide compassionate care and support to our patients and their owners.
• Triage and obtain patient history
• Animal handling experience including patient restraint, sample collection, and monitoring
• Clinical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculation
Qualifications:
• Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in taking radiographs.
• Experience in an emergency veterinary setting is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle stressful situations with poise.
• Self-starter personality that can complete daily tasks without the need for constant direction

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE
Typical schedule will be Saturday and Sunday from 10am- 8:30pm with a 30 minute lunch
This individual is considered essential personnel which may include reporting to work during Main Campus closures
Expected Salary:Non-credentialed technician $18-22, Credentialed Technician $20-25
Minimum Requirements:Veterinary Technician I: High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience
Veterinary Technician II: Credential veterinary technician
• Graduate from an accredited American Veterinary Medical Association program for veterinary technology OR American Registered Radiologic Technologist.
• Credentialed veterinary Technician OR
• Registered Radiological Technologist
