Partner, Retirement Actuarial Consultant
Aon is looking for a Partner-level hire for its Retirement Actuarial Consulting practice in Washington, DC Aon exists to shape decisions for the better — to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world. As part of an industry-leading team, you will advise clients on retirement strategy and provide Wealth solutions that help employers, fiduciaries, and investment officers manage risk and optimize results in a volatile market environment. This role will be based out of Aon’s Washington, DC office and will help us grow our retirement consulting presence in this market. Your impact in this role Successful candidates will focus primarily on developing new retirement consulting engagements in the Washington, DC market. Colleagues in this role are expected to prioritize and drive sales opportunities across Aon’s Wealth Solutions, including actuarial and investment consulting, pension administration, and defined contribution pooled employer plan pursuits. Job responsibilities: + Responsible for overall relationship and services delivered to one or more significant clients – is the trusted point of contact for clients + Engage clients in strategic conversations that demonstrate the technical expertise and value of Aon’s Wealth advice and solutions + Generate new opportunities and build relationships at targeted prospects where we do not have existing Wealth business + Participate in establishing strategy for developing retirement prospects in the market + Work closely with practice leaders and Sales Executives in the local market to drive sales + Commercialize new ideas and Aon thought leadership in the local market + Elevate the Aon brand through marketing, client events, and speaking engagements + Run proposals, including responding to RFPs, preparing finalist meeting material, and coordinating consulting rehearsals for large opportunities + Supervise, mentor, coach, and develop others to deliver better business results + Set an example by consistently acting with integrity, and championing the importance of ethical behavior and personal integrity Required experience and qualifications: + 15+ years of retirement actuarial work experience + Outstanding client leadership skills + Excellent business acumen + Viewed as influential advisor by C-suite client contacts + Excellent facilitator + Possesses deep understanding of regulatory and legislative rules + Understands broad market trends and how to recognize these issues in the client situation + Detailed-oriented and solid organization skills Preferred experience: + Outstanding external presence, visibility, and profile in the marketplace + Good understanding of the local market + Ability to grow, manage, and develop teams Education: + Academic degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or similar degree + Actuarial credentials: Fellow (or Associate) of the Society of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary How we support our colleagues In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce. Pay Transparency Laws: The salary range for this position intended for U.S. applicants is $200,000 to $280,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of State/Region. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive [an annual discretionary bonus] in addition to base salary. The amount of any [bonus] varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
