Partner Relations Specialist Job Details Position Type Full Time Travel Percentage Up to 50% Job Shift Any Description Summary The Partner Relations Specialist (PRS) promotes We Are Sharing Hope SC’s (SHSC) mission by building and maintaining strong relationships with forensic, funeral, local and regional Transplant Center industry professionals (herein referred to as “partners”) within the SHSC service area to enhance, improve, and maintain a collaborative environment that fosters donation opportunities, while preserving the respective needs of the customers. Essential Duties & Responsibilities + Develops and fosters relationships with all South Carolina (SC) Coroner Offices, Funeral Homes, and Transplant Centers. + Maintains availability at all times to assist staff with any issues surrounding active cases. + Real-time follow-up intervention with ME/Pathologists/Coroner on all denials or cases closed due to ME involvement such as: + No release prior to autopsy and case will time out after autopsy. + Organs or tissues restricted. + Responds to all partner requests for service regarding organ, eye, and tissue donation. + Works with Coroner offices and EMS organizations statewide to maximize tissue donation through referrals of non-hospital deaths. + Compiles and reviews pertinent data to monitor partner aspects of organ/tissue cases and assesses data-based opportunities. + Collaborates with Coroner offices, Funeral Homes and Transplant Centers to improve outcomes by: + Follow-up on process improvement opportunities/issues + Providing data-based education + Improvement upon existing processes + Development of new best practices + Attendance and participation in partner meetings, conferences + Review and/or development of policy and procedures. + Seeking feedback on the donation process through survey/personal follow-up + Provides partners with notices and updates to process or recovery changes and ways SHSC can best support them. + Provide and develop education for partners through various educational forums on topics such as SC Donor Registry, UAGA guidelines, etc. + Provide and develop training regarding partner practices for SHSC staff. + Develop, coordinate, and provide referral training for partners, which may also include first responders (EMS). + Serves as a representative of SHSC to professional groups to include, but not limited to: Donate Life America Funeral Service Committee, National Association of Medical Examiners, National Funeral Directors Association, SC Funeral Directors Association, SC Coroners Association, etc. + Conducts SHSC task force meetings for all partner groups. + Maintains partner group lists/special requests within organization profiles in iTransplant. + Participates and develops opportunities to promote the mission of SHSC in the community. + Maintain accurate documentation of all activities according to department protocols. + Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Qualifications, Education & Experience + Bachelor’s degree; + Three (3) years of experience working with Coroners, MEs, Funeral Homes or healthcare-related field. + Ability to utilize interpersonal communication skills to develop relationships at all levels with partners; + Commitment to organ and tissue donation, as well as transplant, required; + Demonstrated leadership ability; + Ability to analyze and interpret data; + Knowledge of medical terminology preferred; + Excellent communication skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills; + Strong public/professional speaking skills, or; + An equivalent combination of education and experience.
