Parts & Service Manager
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused **Parts and Service Manager** to lead our parts and service operations for municipal and contractor equipment. In this role, you will manage both warranty and billable service work—on the road and in the shop—for a wide range of specialized equipment, including snow and ice removal systems, roadside mowers, street sweepers, basin cleaners, and airport maintenance equipment. You will also be responsible for promoting and managing parts product lines to support our customers’ ongoing equipment needs. This position is based at our **Hopkinton, NH** facility and requires regular travel to our **Skowhegan, ME** location. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: **Service Responsibilities** + Provide professional support to both in-person and phone-in customers requiring service work. + Collect detailed customer and equipment information; accurately document service requests and prepare corresponding quotes. + Follow up with customers and vendors to ensure service issues are resolved and work is completed to satisfaction. + Prioritize and dispatch shop technicians based on workload and urgency. + Develop and manage daily and weekly schedules for incoming service jobs and preventative maintenance. + Maintain a visible presence on the shop floor to promote safe, efficient, and effective work practices. + Accurately enter service details into the Work Order Traveler and JD Edwards systems. + Submit, process, and track warranty claims through outside vendors. + Ensure timely invoicing and closure of all service-related work orders. **Parts Responsibilities** + Review cycle count results with parts clerks to ensure inventory record accuracy. + Support and help develop procedures to maintain accurate and efficient inventory systems. + Identify inefficiencies in shipping operations and implement process improvements to enhance order accuracy. + Work with the Materials Manager to maintain an effective material planning system, including setting min/max levels, EOQ (economic order quantities), and lead time to reduce stockouts and improve profitability. + Analyze market trends, customer demand, and sales data to help develop strategies that support product line growth and profitability. + Ensure all outbound shipping metrics are consistently met or exceeded in accordance with contractual obligations. + Assist in planning the layout of the parts room and other storage areas, factoring in item turnover, size, weight, and usage patterns. + Support team development by conducting training programs, facilitating employee meetings, and promoting performance improvement initiatives. + Monitor and maintain production and time records; analyze department shipping performance for continuous improvement. + Enforce all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations. **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):** + Strong commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant working environment. + Excellent customer service and computer proficiency, including familiarity with service management systems. + Ability to read, interpret, and analyze technical data, drawings, and equipment schematics. + Mechanical background preferred, with a solid understanding of equipment systems and components. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to lead and work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision. + Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). **Education and Experience** + Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or a combination of education and a minimum of four (4) years of relevant industry experience. + Prior experience in service technician roles, service writing, or service management is required. **Working Conditions** + Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, oils, and solvents. + Moderate noise level typical of a service and shop environment.
