Responsible for preparing, processes, inspecting and storing products that go through the passivation process while being able to respond to chemical emergencies.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Use and inspect hand tool equipmentMaintain Personal Protective EquipmentOperate forklift and overhead cranesPrepare products for passivation process to include cleaning, transporting and loading onto fixturesProcess product through passivation process and maintain documentationOffload, clean and inspect product in preparation for storage while insuring product meets all specifications and standardsMaintain a clean safe work environment, including all equipmentSpot/manual passivation of small area (Pickle Paste)Transport hazardous materialsCollect chemical bath samples, monitor solutions with probes and maintain documentationChemical/hazardous spill response, containment and cleanup activitiesLarge/small volume chemical additions to include full decant of solutionsConduct safety audits in compliance with company programsOther duties as requiredEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School degree or equivalent, plus 1- 3 years’ experience working with Hazardous Chemical processes in a manufacturing environmentDECISIONMAKING RESPONSIBIITIES
Determines proper model mix, tooling and handling of products to safely and effectively passivate unitsDetermines proper adjustments needed to passivation process to meet standardsDetermines proper response to chemical spills and other nonroutine chemical activities with safety being the top priorityCOMPETENCIES, SKILLS, CERTIFICATIONS & ABILITIES
Basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication and divisionAble to pass and operate a forklift and an overhead crane certification.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Must be able to wear required PPE at all times.Must be able to pass a medical evaluation for respiratory protection40 Hour Hazwoper Certified DOT Hazmat/RCRA Confined Space AuthorizedWORKING CONDITIONS

Understanding of deadlines within a fast paced environment.Frequently involves walking, standing, bending and twisting at the neck and waist, squatting, climbing, and kneeling.Occasionally involves simple and power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, reaching above and below shoulder level, and lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.Involves driving a forklift and overhead cranes, walking on uneven ground, exposure to excessive noise, extreme temperatures or humidity, dust, gas, fumes or chemicals, working at heights and is required to utilize protective equipment as needed.Watts in it for you:
