Passive Fire Protection Lead - Data Centres

Are you interested in working on some of the UK's most high-profile projects in the field of specialist fire engineering?

Passive Fire Protection (PFP) is a crucial aspect of fire safety in buildings, and getting it right requires careful collaboration, planning, and management throughout the design and construction process.

Data is a dominant element of modern life and storing it is big business. To lead the way in the data centre sector, what is a data centre? In contrast to a lot of projects undertaken at Laing O'Rourke, data centres are generally functional to look at. Owing to their nature, they are highly secure, private and resilient buildings. But, if you were to step inside, you'd witness something truly remarkable and now essential to our modern ways of life. These immense technological warehouses, between one and four storeys tall, provide huge levels of cooling, power and backup generation for vast halls of servers. It is the nature, scale and repeatability of the mechanical and electrical equipment inside that makes them so ripe for transfer to offsite delivery methodology and the digitisation of their design and operation installation.

We are currently seeking a PFP technical leader/manager/engineer to join our team nationwide across prison site locations and help us lead the construction industry with our innovative approach to Passive Fire Protection.

We are looking for technically-minded, quality-focused individuals with a keen interest in fire engineering and an understanding of how buildings and materials react to fire.

This is an exciting opportunity to be instrumental in a rapidly developing sector of the construction industry with real scope for learning, development, and progression.
