Hourly Rate: $21.25 an hour

The Pasta Cook will perform a variety of duties including cooking pasta/rice using prepared formulas, assembling machine parts, reviewing requisitions and batch sheets, performing sheer tests and yield tests on pasta ensuring target specifications required numbers are met and according to instructions promptly, inspection of work environment including equipment adjustments, ensuring good housekeeping and 5S standards are met. You will report to the production Team Leader. You will work on site in the Council Bluffs location.

Essential Job Functions: 

Work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for position Read, write, communicate, and comprehend written instructions in English Intermediate math skills  Basic knowledge of computers including email   

Job Duties: 

Communicate with production leads on pasta/rice quality, amount needed, and timing  Check equipment before use to ensure setup is complete (e.g., guards are in place, belts and augers are assembled and sanitized, etc.) Assemble cleaned machine parts and set controls to proper pasta mix settings  Review requisition and batch sheets to ensure all items and quantities received are correct Perform daily scale audits Verify temperatures, ratios, and set points match the batch sheet Perform pasta sheer tests and yield tests ensuring they meet target specifications and required numbers Ensure good housekeeping and 5S standards are met Complete all required paperwork, including SSOP and SOP  Perform sanitary checks on equipment to be used  May perform general labor duties as assigned 

Skills Required: 

Knowledge of GMP’s and food allergens Be HACCP Certified, PIT Certified, and LOTO Certified Identify Critical Control Points (CCP) Read a thermometer Work in a hot humid environment  Knowledge of the 5S concept Mechanical aptitude Work with pork, chicken, beef and shellfish products in addition to many other ingredients and allergens  

Qualifications: 

Education:  High school diploma or GED preferred. 

Experience Required:  Minimum 3 months production or related experience preferred.
