As The Observatory School grows we are adding to a team which has high expectations and sets high standards for both pupils and colleagues.
The Governors are looking to appoint two well qualified, highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative Pastoral Assistant's who will support our growing provision and expanding team across our three school sites, Vyner Campus, Leasowe Campus and Solar Campus (Key Stages 2, 3 and 4).
They will play a key part in this journey by supporting a team of Assistant Headteachers, Heads of School, Executive Headteacher and Governors in the delivery of the school primary aims and objectives.
Working as an integral part of the Pastoral Team, they will provide the link between Senior Safeguarding Managers, Pastoral Managers and Teachers within school.
The focus of the role will be to support the needs of students who have barriers to their learning and require targeted support to raise their aspirations and develop appropriate 'behaviours for learning'.
Barriers to learning can include attendance, domestic situations, emotional, social and behavioural difficulties.
They will be committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for pupils living with Social, Emotional and Mental health needs.
Knowledge, skills and experience are important, but so will be your emotional intelligence and resilience. You will be empathetic and compassionate but have the ability to set clear boundaries and expectations.
The Observatory School is an extraordinary place of work and to meet our team's expectations, you will be an extraordinary individual with a proven track record.
Expectations are high, challenges you have never faced before will come from all directions and the onus will be on you to meet them in line with the vision of school.
In return we offer the opportunity to work with our area's most extraordinary children along with the area's most resilient, cohesive and supportive staff team, where a working day is never the same as the last.
The school is truly a remarkable place and if you feel you would like to embark on the adventure, please take the opportunity visit the school before application.
