Pastry Supervisor

Your Journey 

Uphold the standards of the Pastry Kitchen during preparation of pastry items and with interactions with guests and fellow associates 

Supervise all pastry staff including training and mentoring 

Prepare the highest quality of food products for the restaurant and banquets, according to menu descriptions and hotel’s standards 

Assist with ordering to ensure proper stock levels of ingredients needed to operate the daily production and banquet demand 

Assist management with scheduling, labor controls, and other administrative duties 

Maintain a clean working environment in compliance with health and safety standards 

Attend meetings as needed  

Deliver on guests’ expectations and have the desire to create WOW moments 

Perform additional duties as assigned that may be outside of the normal scope of duties based on business needs 

 

About You 

You enjoy supervision, mentoring, and the creation of pastries where the appearance, colors, and taste appeal show up every time  

You are passionate about providing exceptional guest service and creating memorable moments 

You are open to learning, developing, and growing both yourself, personally, and helping others do the same 

You are trustworthy and have integrity 

 

Must Haves 

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays 

Ability to collaborate in a team environment 

Basic communication skills 

Able to demonstrate culinary techniques such as cutting, cooking principles, plate presentations, and proper sanitation and safety practices 

One year minimum of pastry experience in a standalone restaurant or hotel or educational equivalent 

Prior supervisory experience, a plus 

Luxury hotel experience, a plus

Physical Requirements 

Grasping, holding, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending over 

Ability to stand and exercise mobility for extended periods of time during your scheduled shift 

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and for extended periods during the shift 

Ability to push and pull food serving equipment and carts weighing up to 200 pounds on a semi - regular basis 

Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F).

The pay scale* for Pastry Supervisor is $25 - $28 per hour.

*The pay scale is the base salary or hourly wage range, exclusive of incentive pay such as commissions, piece rates, gratuities, and the like, that Montage reasonably expects to pay for the position.
