YOUR ROLE The person in this role will report to a Henkel Senior Patent Counsel and support Henkel patent counsel in various locations, including CT, NJ, and MI, in providing legal services to Henkel Adhesives Technology.  The role is based in Henkel’s Rocky Hill, CT.  This candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and the ability to manage a demanding workload from various locations as a key member of the North American Patent Group. Additionally, this candidate will work with the Law departments and other departments in the Henkel organization as well as outside counsel.  The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, innovative and organized. Being a self-starter is certainly helpful. Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: patent docketing, patent filings, communications with outside counsel and foreign agents, business partners, and scientists; manage various dockets; train personnel in patent procedures.  Become familiar with and use Henkel’s global contract management system so that the ideal candidate can retrieve and review various agreements, as requested;  Assist North American Law Group personnel with information, document and projects as requested; o Handle miscellaneous information requests from Henkel AG & Co. KGaA and affiliates;  Interact with senior professionals in the company;  Work with attorneys, outside counsel and foreign agents to ensure all deadlines are timely met; Attend weekly, biweekly, monthly team meetings to discuss and align on short-term and long-term projects;  Work with Litigation team on any litigation matters related to patents or trade secrets, as appropriate. YOUR SKILLS Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate or equivalent experience required;  At least five (5) years related law firm or in-house experience in Patent law; Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and a willingness to learn other systems, including Henkel’s global contract management and Unycom docketing system, and the USPTO’s patent center;  Notary public certification is a plus;  Ability to interact with Henkel colleagues, outside counsel and other 3rd parties with which Henkel is transacting business in a highly professional manner; and  Patent law firm or in-house experience, with patent docketing and/or management experience.

The salary for this role is $80,000.00 - $90,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range.  This salary range may also be modified in the future.
