Pathology Referral Representative - Cytopathology

Demonstrates competency of tasks in assigned area
- Documents receipt and handling of all patient materials and case documents in an electronic information system
- Analyzes case and determines additional materials, information or reports needed and determine appropriate source for missing items with high attention to detail
- Interprets and coordinates physician's orders to request additional material from contributing facility for patient care; files slides, cell blocks and reports in a timely manner; prints, sorts and scans reports; pulls slides for monthly Quality Control conference; picks up and distributes mail
-Coordinates with the Cytopathologists and assists in ordering unstained slides for MDL testing.
- Assists in 3-4 daily runs that comprises of pick-up and drop-off of specimens and specimen slides to the clinical labs, Pathologist mailboxes and ACB Cytology labs.

Coordinates requests for testing with other institutions- Submits patient information to appropriate institutional offices for processing (ex. translation, financial clearance, registration, etc.)
- Collaborates with faculty in the processing of requests for prognostic testing and communicates with institutional personnel as needed to facilitate testing
- Manages all customer service interactions with diplomacy, actively facilitating resolutions to problems and addressing the needs of the clients both internal and external while communicating in an understandable manner

Completes all work assignments in a timely manner- Prioritizes and organizes workflow, meeting productivity goals of the section and adjusting to daily workflows as needed
- Maintains productivity requirements for the section and assists with any project as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
