Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are seeking a Pathology Support Specialist who will provide administrative support for the pathologists’ clinical workflows and review of pathology cases. Do you have an interest in science and medicine? We want you to join our team!

 

Role Overview:

Provide operational support for pathologists and fellows and manage pathology cases from the point of preliminary case review to reporting of final resultsNavigate clinical systems to collect relevant patient medical history required for pathologist diagnosis and work-upWork with internal pathologists to follow up with internal and external health care team membersExtract and incorporate relevant clinical, morphologic, and laboratory findings from previous patient reportsCommunicate, work and respond effectively and professionally

Key Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in the sciences or Public Health, OR four years of job-related experience working in a medical or laboratory settingMicrosoft Office Suite expertise; familiarity with databases and strong digital literacy

Additional Information: 

Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pmTraining onsite, Monday - Friday, 3-6 months. Possibility of 1 work from home day after training.Location: 1275 York Avenue in NYCReporting to: Manager, Hospital Operations  

Pay Range: $25.65-$38.42

Learn More About the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at MSK: The Department of Pathology consists of disease-specific pathologists, molecular diagnosticians, and researchers with expertise in a range of solid tumor types as well as hematopathology. Our pathologists collaborate with MSK specialists to customize each patient’s treatment based on their individual diagnosis. Molecular pathology and precision medicine are increasingly vital components of the work we do. In addition to clinical testing, we are actively involved in institutionally sponsored clinical trials as well as clinical test development to ensure that MSK patients receive results from available advanced technologies.
