Patient Access Coordinator-Milton (Dental)

Job Summary: The Patient Access Coordinator assists the Front Office Manager or Site Manager with day-to-day activities of the front desk and ensures that policies and procedures are followed. The coordinator acts as a point of contact for the front office manager or site manager, billing, and provider staff for the job responsibilities and performance of the front desk team.
Job Duties:
Liaison between the front desk and the front office manager or site manager, billing, and provider staff Provides supervision to the front desk staff on day-to-day tasks in conjunction with the front office manager or site manager. Responsible for ensuring adequate front desk coverage at all timesResponsible for ensuring that scheduling policies are followed in conjunction with provider/site manager requestsResponsible for ensuring that billing procedures are followed Responsible for ensuring that registration procedures are followedResponsible for ensuring proper insurance policies and protocols are followed and identifying where issues are, or where improvements can be made Responsible for managing workques with the ability to designate work where it is neededResponsible for ensuring that Valley Health patient protection policies (e.g. HIPPA) are followed Responsible for leading quality care initiative such as daily huddles, reports from Aledade, etc. Responsible for ordering of various supplies including office and marketingResponsible for opening and closing of center per shift requirementsResponsible for seeing that all site correspondence is received, distributed, and answered in a timely mannerParticipate in the interview/hiring and orientation process of future staff. Responsible for contributing to staff reviews by providing feedback and participating in meetingsRecommend and initiate change within the department (after approval from the office coordinator and provider staff) to improve patient flow and the patient experience.Responsible for ensuring excellent front desk patient service Performs front desk duties as an active member of the front office team (see Receptionist Job Description for full detail of duties)Maintain compliance with the organization’s confidentiality policy in accordance to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
High school graduate/GED.Ability to relate to patients, through familiarity with medical terminology and triage procedure.Good organization and ability to multitask. Friendly personality with the desire to work with the public. Previous Managerial experience is recommended
