XPM02J – Patient Access, Director – Implementation & Project Management
Brief Description:
This position will provide business direction and project management for strategic Patient Access Services program implementation and projects. This role would manage cross-functional strategic planning projects, provide content/idea creation, work cross-functionally, develop strategic planning communications (verbal and written), and be responsible for directing, managing and synthesizing the unique needs of pharmaceutical clients. This role will oversee a team of Program Managers executing on affordability initiatives as well as Project Managers overseeing access and adherence program implementations and transformation initiatives. Additionally, this role will also lead the UAT function for PAS. They will be responsible for development and maintenance of operating plans, communication plans, schedules, estimates, and resource plans. Solves unique and complex coordination amongst multiple vendors to drive successful program launches, transitions or upgrades. They will be knowledges on many aspects and services of Patient Access, Adherence and Affordability and work with a broad spectrum of products and disease states. This role requires clear and timely communication with a dedicated team of Project and Program leaders. Principles and processes of Project Management will be incorporated in all work products and management of telephonic, video and in-person engagements with internal staff and external stakeholders. Contributes to the development of functional strategy; Leads project teams to achieve milestones and objectives. Will lead a team who will manage multiple implementations across access, adherence, and affordability. Will participate in program quarterly business reviews and/or strategic sessions. Will maintain client strategic relationships. Extensive interaction with cross functional internal contacts including sales, operations and IT. Significant participation in strategic planning. Reviews contracts and is accountable for proper execution of contract terms. Works with senior leadership to develop policies, procedures and the business work plan for assigned program(s) in corresponding site(s).
Specific job duties:
Leads a team of Project Managers who guide all of UBC’s PAS implementations.Leads a team of Program Managers who operates all of UBC’s PAS affordability programs.Provides business direction and project management for strategic projects related to Patent Access Services (access, affordability, adherence).Analysis of complex situations, distillation of the issues into strategic options and driving to appropriate conclusions.Ensures that UBC has correct project scope, deliverables, work plans and decisions. Enables project managers to implement programs per the scope of work, program and standard operating procedures within the contracted budgets.Monitors multiple program statistics and metrics to identify risk and take corrective actions.Lead large cross-functional project efforts with all parts of organization. (such as new PMO activities)Creates strategic content for proposals and participates in new business development activities such as finalist meetings. Manages tight deadlines, scope and converging opinions in timely manner.Incorporate knowledge of Patient Access Services into valuable recommendations and partnerships with internal and external stakeholdersProvide meaningful consultation to clients that drive achievable timelines and deliverables.Ensures project delivers business operational needs and requirements.Presentation of program information to internal and external customers.Manages budget and timeline parameters.Communications solutions for a unique client – both written and verbal.Gain trust and respect of key Pharma executives. Develops and maintain project plans, workstreams and change controls.Develops detailed communications plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans.Revises finalist materials to support prospecting and finalist opportunities.Partners on growth issues and assist in sales activities including finalist presentations, decks, RFP’s and finalist coordination.Develop executive communications including presentation slides and analysis.Contributes to strategic and business planning for the program(s) by participating in planning activities company-wide, identifying project initiatives and operational issues, coordinating research and developing recommendations based on that research. Assists with development and tracking of budget.Participate in interviewing prospective employees, evaluating current employees, and train employees as needed. Verbal executive communication, actively participates in meetings, handles high-pressure environment with multiple competing priorities, actively prepares for future needs/other projects, accommodates for current and changing needs.30-40% travel to and attend related meetings/conferences as required.Other projects as needed/assigned.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or relevant Patient Access Services experience10 – 15 years of relevant experience in Patient Access Services, or Master’s degree with 8 – 12 years relevant experienceExtensive project management skills using various programs to prepare and execute business plans, Pharma and/or patient access services experience preferredExtensive Pharma client experience, Pharma relationship managementExcellent PC skills including Microsoft Office and Internet experienceStrong focus on book of business client satisfaction and client retention resultsAbility to work cross-functionally to proactively communicate and to resolve issues with the highest sense of urgencyHighly developed written communication and documentation skills to develop project educational materials, program specific procedures, product tools, and other services – related to collateralStrong analytical and problem-solving skills including ability to manage complex analysis from issue identification to proposal of potential solutionsAbility to influence and motivate team membersAbility to travel as needed, and sometimes for several weeks during program launchBenefits:
