Patient Access Education Coordinator - Day

Hours

Part-Time: 56 Hours/Biweekly

General Summary

Facilitates training opportunities to provide insurance, compliance and registration knowledge. Plans, assesses, delivers and evaluates training programs for Access staff. Monitors insurance training modules and completion of competencies. Exercises strong communication skills, both written and oral. Represents the System in a professional manner, using good customer service practices and skills in the performance of the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

Delivers training for staff who will use patient registration and estimation applications ensuring that they receive consistent, accurate training on appropriate policies and procedures.Develops, maintains, and delivers training modules, continuing education modules and competencies.Evaluates completed registrations for quality assurance via daily work queues, identifying errors, providing educational feedback to registrars, monitoring individual performance and trending errors for further educational development or improvement.Provides customer service registration and insurance support (via a telephone que) for Access staff, and responds to IS Helpdesk email tickets and a system distribution email list for registrars' insurance questions.Performs registration duties and functions to support Billing, Customer Service and Medical Records needs.Communicates with appropriate contracting departments to ensure correct insurance participation documentation for registration staff.Develops and maintains references for accurate registration and insurance entry procedures, collaborating with other departments to incorporate insurance changes and ensure billing accuracy.Communicates insurance and registration related information via email, Share point portal, and both a weekly and monthly newsletter.Evaluates learning programs and recommends changes as needed to improve learning outcomes.Acts as a resource and educator to employees and management by standardizing processes and maintaining a high expectation for quality of service and output of work.

Estimated Amount: - Occasional travel to other System facilities.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Associates Degree Preferred

Work Experience:

2 years Registration/insurance experience or previous training experience. Required

Licenses:

Certified Healthcare Access Associate Upon Hire Preferred
