As our Patient Access Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Patient Access Supervisor, Patient Access Administrative Coordinator and Patient Access Associates. Every day, you will coordinate with the patient access team in the operations of daily job responsibilities. You will also be responsible for working in the standard as necessary to meet team metrics/SLA's.
To thrive in this role, you must have experience in a hospital environment (ER preferably) and possess exceptional communication and customer service skills.
Here’s what you will experience working as a Patient Access Manager:
Develop, recommend, and oversee the implementation and administration of policies and procedures of patient admissions and bill auditing servicesEvaluate process and procedures and coordinate with the management team to ensure efficient patient processing, bed utilization, and adherence to federal and local laws and regulationsDemonstrate, through plans and actions, a consistent standard of excellence to which all department work is expected to conformFocus on continuous improvement working with the Senior Manager and Patient Access Managers across the Health System with a goal of delivering the highest degree of quality service possibleProvide support for Human Resource guidanceComplete, review, manage and monitor department budgetDirects and leads the patient access team in the daily operationsRepresents Patient Access on various committees and teams and in meetingsPerforms other duties as assignedTo be successful in this role, the candidate will have:
High School diploma or equivalent.1-3 years of leadership experience within healthcare industryExperience working with patients in a hospital settingKnowledge of MS Office Products Excellent communication and customer service skillsPhysical Requirements:
See, read, and/or operate computers, telephones, office equipment, documents, labels, including manipulating paper requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.Remain sitting, standing, or walking for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.Frequent interactions with associates, patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require associate to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information banding patients, etc.Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items (over 5 lbs.)For this US-based position, the base pay range is $57,953.00 - $86,733.05 per year .
