Patient Access Rep - Emergency Dept, Per Diem (Evenings/Overnights)
Job Description Summary: MaineGeneral Health is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our Emergency Department team on a per diem basis, with evening and overnight shifts available. Job Description:

What You'll Do:

Financial Clearance & Registration: Perform financial clearance, registration, and clerical duties at the point of service, ensuring all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained accurately.Patient Interaction: Meet with patients or their caregivers to exchange necessary information, explain processes, and address any concerns or questions they may have.Communication & Coordination: Collaborate with unit staff and other personnel to exchange crucial information and facilitate patient placement.Insurance & Payments: Verify insurance benefits, obtain pre-certification/authorization as needed, and determine required payments, including co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurance. You may also refer patients to financial counselors for further assistance.Data Management: Ensure timely and accurate entry of all information into the registration system to support seamless patient care.

What You Bring:

Customer Service Experience: A background in customer service, with a focus on effective communication and a positive attitude.Healthcare Experience: 1 year of experience in patient registration, scheduling, or other clerical/customer service roles in a medical office setting is preferred.Technical Skills: Ability to keyboard quickly and accurately, ensuring all patient information is entered correctly.
