Enters patient/guarantor data in patient accounting system; collects patient signatures on forms; and scans registration documents. Obtains and processes signed physician orders, conducts online insurance eligibility/benefit verification on designated cases, notifies patient/guarantor and collects patient liabilities, and refers appropriate cases to financial counseling for follow-up and consultation. May provide escort and directional support to patients, family members and visitors. Enhances the patient experience throughout all patient interactions, the majority of which are face-to-face. **What the Patient Access Representative Will Need** + Required: High school diploma. Preferred: Associate’s Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Data entry skills (50-60 keystrokes per minutes). Prefer one year of applicable experience in a healthcare provider or payer environment. + Must have fluid experience with various software programs and ability use multiple systems to obtain or validate information during the interview process. + Required: Basic computer skills.
