Lawrence General Hospital is offering a $1,000 sign-on bonus for a full-time Patient Access Representative. As the Patient Access Representative, you will perform all tasks related to pre-registration and registration of patients in an efficient, accurate and professional manner to ensure that the patient, physician and hospital needs are met. Duties and Responsibilities: + Perform accurate registration and insurance verification, ensuring collection of all critical data elements necessary for proper patient identification for registration and billing. + Communicate in a professional, positive and respectful manner with patients and offices and provide consistent excellent customer service in a variety of situations. + Complies with point-of-service cash collections, balancing, batching, and depositing in accordance with hospital policies. + Review error reports provided and correct errors before the end of the shift. + Manage all incoming calls into the department and distribute them as necessary. + Complete other duties as assigned. Required: + High School diploma + Computer and typing experience + Customer service skills Preferred: + Prior experience working directly with the public in a healthcare patient access environment. + Prior knowledge of third-party insurance and medical terminology. + English/Spanish bilingual is preferred.
