Patient Access Representative - Emergency Dept, Per Diem (Shifts Vary)

What You'll Do:

Greet and assist patients and caregivers at the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care, providing a warm and supportive environment.Perform financial clearance, insurance verification, and obtain necessary precertifications or authorizations.Ensure accurate entry of patient demographic, billing, and clinical information into the registration system in a timely manner.Communicate and coordinate with clinical staff and other departments to ensure smooth patient placement and care.Address patient and caregiver questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy, explaining processes clearly.Collect payments such as co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurance, or refer patients to financial counselors for assistance.

What You Bring:

Relevant customer service experience in a fast-paced setting.Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.Preferably 1 year of experience in patient registration, scheduling, or clerical/customer service roles in a medical or healthcare setting.Proficiency in data entry with attention to accuracy and speed.A dedication to providing outstanding service and a positive experience for patients and families.
