The Patient Access Representative performs functions that enhance patient access and increase revenue to the clinic. In this role, you advise patients regarding insurance coverage and financial obligations, completes registration and scheduling of patients in the automated registration/scheduling system, and collects payments.

 

Hours are 8:30am - 5:00pm (Monday-Friday).

Responsibilities Reviews and updates patient registration/demographic informationVerifies and scans insurance information at time of service to ensure appropriate and complete information has been obtainedObtain referral waiver forms when appropriateCollect co-payments and self-pay payments for miscellaneous Joslin servicesAcknowledges patients arriving into the departmentUtilizes scheduling systems for many types of appointmentsEnters managed care referralsProvides general information to patients and visitorsProvides support for incoming and outgoing phone calls and workqueue management.Other duties as assigned by management Qualifications High School diplomaMinimum of 2 years experience in a medical office setting, preferably OphthalmologyExceptional interpersonal skillsKnowledge of personal computer and automated registration/scheduling systemsKnowledge of insurance and collection of paymentsDemonstrated skill in customer service, team building and problem solving Joslin is an Equal Opportunity Employer of Minority/Female/Individuals with Disabilities/Protected Veterans.
