Required License/Registration/Certification None Physical Requirements This position requires regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Shift Primarily days, including weekends and some holidays. Hours and shift will be discussed during interview process. Job Summary The Patient Access Services Representative is responsible for providing check-in activities for UK HealthCare patients including appointment registration; resolution of patient complaints; collection and verification of demographic information and insurance/payer source information and correction of registration errors; maintain HIPPA compliant and comply with all UKHC policies regarding patient privacy and confidentiality. This position will also participate in unit and Enterprise activities to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and patient satisfaction. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented; possess patient registration and health insurance knowledge; have the ability to multi-task with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail; be proficient in Microsoft Office, to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); have solid time management, critical thinking, follow-through, and planning and organizational skills; and have a high level of respect for confidentiality. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience Associate degree and at least four years of customer service experience preferred; previous experience working with patient registration highly preferred.
