The Patient Access Representative is responsible for providing: patient arrivals, patient registration, resolution of patient complaints, collection and verification of demographic information, insurance/payer source information, correction of registration errors, collection of patient-responsibility payments at the time of service (copays, co-insurance, self-pay estimates), maintain HIPAA compliant and comply with all UKHC policies regarding patient privacy and confidentiality, participate in unit and Enterprise activities to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.
The ideal Candidate: Has the ability to perform their work in a fast-paced environment. Work independently and complete tasks efficiently, with an attention to detail. Loves helping others in sometimes stressful situations. Ability to keep a professional demeanor when working with patients and families.

No Preferred Education/Experience Associate degree and at least four years of healthcare customer service experience preferred; previous experience working with patient registration highly preferred. Shift Week 1: Thursday, Friday, & Saturday 6:45a-7:15p Week 2: Sunday 6:45a-7:15p and Wednesday 6:45p-7:15a Pattern: Week one you would work Thursday, Friday and Saturday dayshift. Week two you would work Sunday dayshift and Wednesday night shift. Then you will be off for 7 days returning to week one pattern. Job Summary UK HealthCare EmPATH (Emergency Psychiatric Assessment, Treatment, & Healing) Psychiatric Unit is a 12-bed open milieu providing specialized emergency/crisis care to behavioral health patients 18 years and older. This service will assist in decompressing the emergency departments and improving the quality and trauma-informed nature of crisis care at UK Healthcare. Behavioral health needs may include mental illness and substance use disorders, with a goal of quickly stabilizing the crisis and returning patients back to community supports with reduction in hospital use.
