Required License/Registration/Certification None Physical Requirements Sitting at computer workstation for extended periods including data entry; repetitive motions, and occasionally standing or walking with objects up to 10 lbs. Shift Weekday, M-F, 8am – 5pm Job Summary The Patient Access Representative is responsible for providing pre-visit activities for UK HealthCare patients including appointment coordination and scheduling; resolution of patient complaints; collection and verification of demographic information and insurance/payer source information and correction of registration errors; as well as maintain HIPAA compliant and comply with all UKHC polices regarding patient privacy and confidentiality. This position will also participate in unit and Enterprise activities to improve efficiency, quality, safety and patient satisfaction. Please apply for any and all positions you feel qualified. If you do not apply for a position, you cannot be considered for the position Skills / Knowledge / Abilities The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented; possess patient scheduling and health insurance knowledge; have the ability to multi-task with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail; be proficient in Microsoft Office, to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); have solid time management, critical thinking, follow-through, and planning and organizational skills; and have a high level of respect for confidentiality. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience Associates degree and 4 years of healthcare customer service experience preferred, and previous experience working with patient scheduling is highly preferred.
