Job Description

The patient access team is responsible for managing the initial registration and check-in process for patients at a healthcare facility, including collecting personal information, verifying insurance details, scheduling appointments, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed, essentially acting as the first point of contact for patients when they arrive for treatment; they essentially facilitate a patient's access to medical care by guiding them through the administrative procedures involved in entering a healthcare setting. The Access Support Intern will help support data collection and analyzation efforts for the team by running reports in Epic and other external applications. The intern will have an opportunity to leaven key concepts related to Patient Access processes and procedures.

Project/position description:

Track and analyze patient access related data (would be a part of the 2025 Access Standards initiative)Create PowerPoint presentations showing progress of projects and analysisSchedule project related meetings along with taking minutes and documenting on project tracker tool

Qualifications:

Progression toward an undergraduate or graduate degree inStrong work ethic and demonstrated initiativeStrong writing, communication, interpersonal and presentation skillsSolid process, analytical, problem solving and time management skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Education

College or graduate student that is currently working towards a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration or other related field
