Patient Account Analyst
Job Details:

The Patient Accounting Analyst is responsible for in-depth follow-up procedures for all specifically assigned unresolved accounts, in accordance with both third party regulations and MidHudson Valley Staffco Policy. The Patient Accounting Analyst provides a summary analysis on payer trending and reports findings to the Contract Manager and Director of Patient Financial Services, actively participates in discussions and necessary follow upto resolve ongoing concerns with accounts.

Responsibilities:

Contacts appropriate payer to resolve unpaid/ unresolved claims. All needed requests and all documentation will be requested within 24 hours of contact with payer. Provides coverage for other follow-up staff as needed. Is able to provide billing coverage. Meets specified quota set by manager and defined by payer. Exceeds specified quota assigned by Supervisor/Manager. Monitors and completes follow-up reports as assigned by Supervisor/Manager. Turns in reports every Friday for Supervisor/Manager review. Schedules monthly meetings with Manager of Contracts to report payer trending analysis. Incorporates Contract Management and Denial Management staff as needed. Identifies problems with Hospital billing system or electronic billing system and general processes and provides supporting documentation to Manager or Coordinator. Initiates contact with vendors/IT staff and follows through for resolution. Updates and initials all activity on Hospital system. Performs other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

3-5 years in-depth, all payer, manual and electronic billing experience required and/or at the discretion of the Manager.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

If applicable, the individual performing this job may reasonably anticipate coming into contact with human blood and other potentially infectious materials. Individuals in this position are required to exercise universal precautions, use personal protective equipment and devices, and learn the policies concerning infection control. PC skills, Word Perfect. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to analyze and problem solve.
