Northern Light Medical Transport and Emergency Care Department: Patient Financial Services Position is located: Cianchette Professional Blding Work Type: Full Time Hours Per Week: 40 Work Schedule: No Hours Assigned Summary: Patient Account Representative is responsible for patient account management including coding, claims submission, payment posting, issuance of refunds, payer interaction, denial management and other tasks as assigned related to the revenue cycle. Responsibilities: + Reviews and evaluates billing or payment postings + Investigates problems and takes appropriate corrective action. + Advises supervisor of any suspected system deficiencies. + Completes mandatory training, reads all required policy/procedure books yearly. + Evaluates requisitions for appropriateness of billing type and test requested. + Follows all billing protocols, while making a minimum amount of errors. + Enters data into system completely and accurately. + Calls physician's office to obtain the diagnosis, symptom or sign if none is indicated on the requisition. + Properly use the "GA" modifier for Medicare claims for tests that have a completed "ABN" Other Information: Competencies and Skills + Behaves with Integrity and Builds Trust: Acts consistently in line with the core values, commitments and rules of conduct.
