Our hospital is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Account Representative to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring our patients' financial experiences are managed with efficiency and professionalism. Key Responsibilities: + Insurance Collections: Handle the billing and collection process for third-party payers, including government and commercial insurance clients. Ensure timely follow-up on outstanding claims to maximize hospital reimbursement. + Appeals & Denials Management: Analyze and respond to insurance denials or underpayments by preparing and submitting accurate appeals or reconsideration packages. Work proactively to resolve issues that delay revenue cycle processes. + Account Reconciliation: Reconcile patient accounts by reviewing account balances, payments, and adjustments to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies effectively. + Patient Communication: Respond to patient inquiries regarding insurance claims, balances, and account status in a professional, compassionate, and patient-friendly manner. + Work collaboratively with other departments, including billing, coding, and patient services, to identify and address account issues. Requirements Experience Required: Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in insurance collections, appeals, and denials management in a healthcare or hospital setting. Proficiency in medical billing software and familiarity with billing codes (CPT, ICD-10, etc.). Understanding of insurance guidelines, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer regulations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
