Full TimeJob Summary: Performs analysis of software and systems for Patient Accounting. This will include both IP and OP billing and collecting related issues. All current software systems will be analyzed and improvements made to processes based on analysis.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None.
Work Experience: 5 - 7 years related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of patient accounting functions. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access as might be used in the preparation of correspondence and reports. Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to integrate the analysis of data to discover facts or develop knowledge, concepts or interpretations. Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Analyze current operating billing and collecting systems and recommend improvements based on analysis. Perform monthly analysis of A/R and contractual allowances. Special projects as assigned by patient accounting director or patient accounting manager.
Decision Making: Independent judgment in planning sequence of operations and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field.
Working Relationships: Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
