Patient Accounts Specialist

Description:The Patient Account Specialist reviews bills for accuracy and submits to the appropriate third-party payer or the patient. Bills secondary and tertiary bills when insurance coverage is present. Completes follow-up on unpaid accounts until final resolution.

Job Status:

Full Time Hybrid remote: Following 90-day minimum on-site initial training, potential for remote work with 1 day onsite weekly.

What you will need:

High school graduate with courses in business, computers, bookkeeping and accounting.One year work experience in accounting or computers preferred.Experience with health insurance billing and payment procedures.Good communication skills to contact insurance carriers, initiate correspondence and understand medical and insurance terms.Typing ability of 60 words per minute.

What you will do:

Bill appropriate third party payer and/or patient.Participate, communicate, interact and assistant patients, the public, and colleagues.Run daily “Auto-Gen” reportsReview, analyze and re-bill open accounts.Correct Electronic Billing System edit reports.
