Job Details:

Under minimal supervision, this position will serve as a resource for financial assistance and copay assistance for patients. Responsible for researching, obtaining and coordination of financial assistance and copay assistance for the Specialty and infusion patients. This may include verification of insurance coverage, entering/ updating patient information into the computer system, communication of financial responsibility and securing financial assistance. The position works closely with billing to navigate and resolve claim rejections across multiple payors in fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

Researches, obtains, and coordinates financial assistance for patients.

Ensures that all financial assistance applications are processed timely and accurately.

Follow up with existing patients to obtain new or renewal copay assistance cards.

Assists with review of financial responsibility with patient or family member and obtain payment mechanism.

Track and monitor patients with approved assistance grants and reapply for more funding as needed.

Utilizes appropriate communication lines in relaying problems, concerns, questions, and ideas.

Demonstrates the ability to work effectively and maintain expected productivity.

Cooperates with other staff members when planning and organizing daily activities.

Always maintains a courteous demeanor.

Prioritizes and completes work on schedule.

Researching and updating manufacturer copay assistance programs as needed

Navigate and resolve billing rejections to meet daily ship dates

Meets quality standards, shows pride in performance, and demonstrates reliability and follow through on all assigned tasks.

Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively and express ideas clearly.

Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Customer service background preferred

1-3 years of healthcare-related financial assistance experience and or pharmacy billing experience is strongly preferred.

Knowledge of financial assistance programs desired.

Knowledge of medical terminology preferred

Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office Products required

Self-starter with the ability to work with minimum supervision

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrates the ability to solve problems with minimal supervision

Able to appropriately prioritize and multitask
