About the Unit
Patient Aides are responsible for safely transporting patients to and from various Heart and Vascular exams, including Cardiac Echo, Stress Testing, Vascular Ultrasound, and EEG. In addition to patient transport, duties include assisting with department tasks such as stocking linen, cleaning equipment, and supporting technologists as needed. Patient Aides must ensure timely patient transport and notify the coordinator of any delays. Upon completing transport, aides are expected to remain with patients until technologists arrive and follow proper procedures for patient returns. During downtime, Patient Aides assist with stocking supplies, cleaning stretchers, and maintaining department readiness. A commitment to patient safety, efficiency, and teamwork is essential.
About Troy Hospital
In response to the health care needs of a growing community, in 1977, Corewell opened a new 189-bed hospital on rural farmland in Troy. Today, Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital has grown to 530 licensed beds and offers a comprehensive array of health care services, continuing to develop to meet the needs of the growing communities it serves.
Scope of work
Responsible for patient transportation to and from all Cardiology diagnostic areas. Assist with patient set up in labs, CPD, lab turnover, basic patient vitals, patient documentation, etc. Expected to adhere to hospital standards applying equally to the interactions between all customer groups, physicians and staff.
Qualifications
