Position Summary
The Patient Care Assistant (CNA) or LPN provides quality patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Works within the guidelines of established practice for the Patient Care Assistant at HMC. Supports the mission, philosophy, and objectives of Hunterdon Medical Center.

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):
Required:
None
Preferred:
One year acute care nursing assistant experience.
License, Registry or Certification:
Required:
For PCA: State Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification OR non-certified nursing assistant with acute care hospital experience required.
For LPN: NJ State LPN license.
For Both PCA and LPN: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Crisis Prevention (CPI) training is required and must be renewed annually. If not certified upon hire, must obtain certification within 6 months of date of hire. CPI Course will be provided at Hunterdon. Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities: Required: Normal knowledge of basic patient care equipment, wheelchairs, and stretchers. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
