Description:

Position Purpose: 

Serve as a key part of our patient care team providing daily cares.

This position is for any acute care/medical-surgical areas at the Waterloo Medical Center location.

Areas include:

2 General: Cardiac/Nephrology Unit

3 General: Post Surgical Unit

4 General: Orthopedics/Neurology Unit

All unit colleagues will float depending on patient census.

What you will Do: 

Supports the team in identifying patient needs and implementing the outcome/goal-based plan of care.Assists the patient care team in the delivery of care.Communicates relevant clinical information to others to optimize patient outcomes/goals.Performs unit-based functions as assigned.

Hours/Schedule:  

.3 FTE; 12 hours per bi-weekly pay period

12-hour shifts, every 3rd weekend/holiday rotation

Day shift; 6:45am -7:15pm or Night shift; 6:45pm - 7:15am

Minimum Qualifications:  

Verification (by transcript or certification) of successful completion of one of the following:

Nurse Aide I courseNursing Fundamentals courseNurse Aid Competency Test.

Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff and physicians while performing their job duties.
