Position Overview:

Performs safety and infection control techniques and functions in caring for the patient.Uses correct techniques and follows standard precautions in applying patient restraints and in transferring patients.Follows proper procedures and techniques to prevent falls and injuries.Performs a variety of supportive and direct care functions (e.g. basic oxygen therapy, heat and cold applications, basic dressings, antiembolism and sequential pressure stockings).Provides personal care (bathing, mouth care, AM/PM care, incontinence care) to patients.Collects stool, urine and sputum specimens.Provides for nutrition of patients (feeds, monitors tube feedings, calculates input and output, delivers nourishment, counts calories, weighs patients.)Performs phlebotomy and stocks phlebotomy and IV trays for unit.Performs EKG's and stocks and maintains supplies for the unit.
