Patient Care Coordinator
Description We are on the lookout for a Patient Care Coordinator to join our team in Bakersfield, California. Your main role will be to manage patient registration and insurance verification, maintain accurate records, and provide excellent customer service. This role also requires ensuring the smooth running of office functions and keeping track of patient financial responsibilities. Responsibilities: • Oversee the registration and pre-registration of patients • Handle the verification of insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations • Maintain and update patient demographics in the system • Manage the collection of co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles • Communicate hospital policies and patient rights to patients • Deliver high-quality customer service in all interactions • Perform administrative tasks including answering phones, maintaining files, and scheduling appointments • Generate correspondence, spreadsheets, and presentations as needed • Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient workflow and patient care • Use Microsoft Excel and other computer applications to perform tasks efficiently Requirements • Proven experience in Customer Service and strong Communication skills • Proficiency in Office Functions and Microsoft Excel • Experience in Training staff and implementing Policy changes • Ability to manage Answering Inbound Calls and Schedule Appointments • Familiarity with Billing Functions and understanding of Insurance policies • Experience in Supervising a team and giving Presentations • Proficiency in handling Benefit Functions and Check Processing tasks • Knowledge of Collection Processes and Correspondence management • Ability to create and manage Spreadsheets for tracking Productivity • Administrative Assistance experience in a healthcare setting • Familiarity with HealthCare.gov and its functions • Proficiency in 10 Key Skills for data entry • Experience in handling Authorizations in a healthcare setting • Ability to work with different Business Units and understand the concept of Deductible • Understanding of Liability in a healthcare context.
