Qualifications:
Required:
Current North Carolina RN licensure (or compact state)
Minimum two (2) years patient care experience
Preferred:
Bachelor of Nursing
Specialty Certification
Experience working as a charge nurse in an acute care setting
Additional skills:
Problem solving, flexibility, interpersonal communication skills and the ability to remain calm under high levels of stress
Ability to comply with all safety and health standards, and all rules, regulations, and orders which are applicable to the individual’s own position, actions, and conduct.
Demonstrates clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.

Collaborates with nursing leadership to ensure resources are available to perform patient care.

Role Responsibility:
Summary: The primary objective of the Patient Care Coordinator is to proactively manage patient flow while assuring effective, quality care. This is a highly visible position within the organization that requires exceptional communication and organizational skills. In partnership with leadership, the Patient Care Coordinator supports the assigned patient care area(s) and facilitates patient flow and a systematic flow and patient care. Duties include leading shift huddles, completing patient assignments, supporting daily operations, assuring team members meals, first-line resolution of patient/team members/provider complaints, elevating appropriate items to the Nurse Manager/Director of Nursing. Additionally, the Patient Care Coordinators support organizational quality initiatives and throughput goals as well as completion of required daily reports and checklists.
