POSITION SUMMARY:
Obtains information from patients. Obtains patient signatures as outlined according to procedure. Explains health care policies and procedures to patients. Assigns rooms and prepares records of admissions and outpatient services.
What you will do:
Meet, greet and register patients as they present for scheduled procedures. Professionally address others with a smile, eye contact, voice, posture, grammar, grooming and appropriate dress.Obtain/verify personal, demographic, insurance and financial information. Collect and witness signatures on insurance and consent forms from patients or family members. Prepare patient charts and labels.Explain hospital policies and procedures to include HIPAA. Escort or make arrangements to have patient escorted to department.Enter proper imaging procedures, including accurate diagnosis and all applicable physicians. (ex. Ordering, consulting and primary physicians) Place orders in Radnet. Ensure validity of all orders.Review and evaluate patient itinerary for completeness, address outstanding issues and formally discharge patient when the diagnostic process is complete.Receive and transfer calls using the communication system.Assist teammates to preserve patient flow and to maintain a high level of customer service and patient care. Keep supervisors and staff informed about relevant issues.What you will need:
High school diploma or equivalent. Medical terminology training and/or ability to demonstrate competency in medical terminology.Prior employment in customer service and a health care environment preferred.Certified in, or the ability to pass CPR training and certification.Knowledge and ability to use computer applications. Ability to complete data entry functions.Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral. Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse perspectives.Articulates and demonstrates commitment to the philosophy, values, mission and vision of the organization.Physical and Mental Requirements and Working Conditions:
