Patient Care Technician (PCT) – Emergency Department at Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA. Positions available are full-time and will work 12-hour shifts. The shift options available will vary and will be discussed should you move forward to interview with a hiring manager.

The Providence Mission Hospital Emergency Department is a designated adult and pediatric Level II Trauma Center in the state of California. We are also a designated Stroke, STEMI, and Psychiatric receiving facility in the community. In our fast-paced Emergency Department, we care for a diverse population of pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients for a wide variety of medical emergencies.
Under general supervision by the RN, the Patient Care Tech II is responsible for providing basic nursing care for in-patients and out-patients as needed, within their specified area(s) (see below). The Patient Care Tech II is responsible for collecting and reporting of information to the supervising RN and completion of all patient care related documentation.

Required Qualifications:
Coursework/Training: For hires after 10/31/16: Completion of a CNA program, or Completion of first semester nursing program, or EMT program completion for hires to Emergency Services. Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association. Experience with basic data entry.Preferred Qualifications:
Coursework/Training and Successful completion of dysrhythmia course or ability to pass rhythm recognition exam test or equivalent education/experience 1 year of acute patient care experience, or 6 months experience in a direct patient care environment in providing clerical support related to Provider or Patient documentation or charting.
