Position Summary
Provides quality nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The PCT works within the guidelines of established practice for the Patient Care Technician at HMC. Performs collection of blood specimens and performs EKG's as ordered by a physician. Assists with general office/clerical functions. Supports the mission, philosophy, and objectives of Hunterdon Medical Center.
Primary Position Responsibilities

5. Performs general office/clerical functions on the nursing unit
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred:
Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):
Required:
Previous hospital experience as a nursing assitant or physician office experience
Preferred:
Phlebotomy, EKG experience
License, Registry or Certification:
Required:
State Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification OR non-certified nursing assistant with acute care hospital experience required. CPR certification is required. Crisis Prevention (CPI) training is required, and must be renewed annually. If not certified upon hire, must obtain certification within 6 months. CPI Course will be provided at Hunterdon.
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
Required:
Normal knowledge of basic patient care equipment, wheelchairs, and stretchers. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
