This position is located on Atlanta Tech's main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta. Under general supervision, the Patient Care Technician Instructor will be responsible for instructing and supervising students in the Patient Care Technician Program. Duties and responsibilities will include, but not limited to, the following: + Demonstra t es the use of appr o priate teaching techniques and d evelops course outlines, goals and objectives; + Mon i tors and manages the class schedules for the non-credit Patient Care Technician program, as well as the program ' s master course schedule ; + Assists in addressing all aspects of verifying program learning outcomes and follows approved curriculum standards and course syllab i ; + Prepares and delivers quality curr i culum with daily i nstruction of stud e nts; + Demonstrates the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping requirements; + Demonstrates the effective use of oral and wr i tten communication skills and knowledge of c u rrent procedures in the Nursing field; + Follow approved curriculum standards and course syllabi; + Assist with student recruitment and job placement, as well as ad vises and counsels students while maintaining appropriate records on each s t udent; + M onitors student use of supplies, materials, and equipment and ma i ntains classrooms and laboratories in accordance with approved classroom and management plans; + Conducts off-site v i s i ts t o classroom / lab and clinical s i tes to ensu r e proper instruction. ; + Observes and enforces the i nst i tution's p o licies and regula t i o ns . + Serves on committees and m aintains qualifications fo r employment as descr i bed by the Tec h nical College Sys t em o f Georgia . + A t tends meetings as required , and meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students, as needed; + Assist with development and review of program, syllabi, goals and objectives according to approved curriculum and course syllabi standards; + Follow and enforce rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution. Minimum Qualifications : Must possess and demonstrate an Associate's Degree in Nursing. Must possess and demonstrate an active l icense as a Registered Nurse in Good Standing with the Georgia Board of Nursing; and possess and demonstrate two (2) years of work related experience as a Registered Nurse with o ne (1) year of clinical experience as a Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse in a Long-Term Care Facility. Preferred Qualifications: Preference may be given to candidates that possess and demonstrate a Bac he l or's Degree in N urs in g and f ive years or more o f cl i nical experience and e duca tio nal teac h ing exper i ence Certifications/Licenses : + American Heart Associate CPR certified; + Holds a Train-the - Trainer Certificate or obtain the certificate upon hire; + Currently licensed in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse and deemed in good standing; and + Registered Nursing in the State of Georgia.
