Job Summary

The Patient Care Tech (PCT) on the Med Surg Unit provides direct patient care for assigned patients under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. Duties include: assisting with admissions and discharges, vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, answering call lights, and ADL's. Performs all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to demonstrate and support the hospital's Catholic heritage and Avera co-sponsorship values of hospitality, compassion and stewardship.  Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and Catholic Ethical and Religious Directives.

Education and/or Experience

Must be 16 years of age or older.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

BLS Certification required within 60 days of hire.

Work Schedule

Night Shift, 6:30pm-7:00am, every third weekend, every third holiday; 72 hours every 2 weeks Position requires a year-round commitment to full-time hours

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$17.50 - $23.00 per hour
