Position Overview:
Verifies transport information from escort dispatcher to effectively plan route and keeps log of travel activities.Transports patients as requested in a timely fashion.Identifies patient by checking identity information and medical charts to ensure patient has been brought to correct area of hospital.Communicates effectively to patient purpose and method of transfer using transfer equipment.Utilizes proper transfer techniques to ensure patient safety following CH guidelines and procedures.Transfers medication in tampered-proof bag when applicable.Self-tests transport equipment to ensure safe handling and proper function. Removes faulty or defective equipment from service.Communicates and expediently notifies dispatching unit of any delays in transport, damaged equipment, or patient problems and concerns.Identifies where and how escort function can be improved and makes recommendations for change.Performs additional duties as assigned.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation: High school diploma or equivalent.Experience: None required.Other Credentials: AHA Heartsaver AEDSpecial Training: No previous training required.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTFrequent physical demands include: Bending , Reaching forwardOccasional physical demands include: Sitting , Climbing (e.g., stairs or ladders) , Carry objects , Twisting , Wrist position deviationContinuous physical demands include: Standing , Walking , Push/PullLifting Floor to Waist 15 lbs.
