Job Summary: Perform duties to ensure accurate and timely billing of Medicare, Medicaid, other government, commercial, managed care, and worker’s compensation claims. The billing representatives’ primary function is to bill accounts in order to secure payment in a prompt manner that is in compliance with all payer rules and regulations. The representative will use electronic billing and editing systems and payer on-line and hard copy reporting assuring prompt and accurate billing and provide feedback on claims that are rejected during the billing process. It is the expectation that the representative will exercise due diligence to secure payment. Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent required with at least 6 months prior billing and/or collection experience, hospital experience preferred. Understanding of governmental regulations and compliance issues related to Medicare/Medicaid payers. Strong conversational and analytical skills are required. Must have knowledge of insurance principles and practices. Ability to interact with payers in an assertive yet tactful manner. Data entry ability. EOE AA M/F/Vet/Disability
