Patient Financial Services Business Office Clerk

 

Job Summary

 

To effectively handle all Business Office correspondence.

 

Minimum Education

 

High School diploma or GED equivalent.

 

Organizational Expectations

 

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

 

Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.

 

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

 

Essential Functions

Opens, sorts, and routes mail to the appropriate area.

Scans Business Office correspondence.

Indexes correspondence to patient accounts.

Makes appropriate notes on patient’s accounts as needed.

Answers inbound calls and posts payments to patient accounts.

Maintains confidentiality of all protected health information. 

Other duties as assigned.
