Patient Financial Services Counselor
**Job Description** **Job Description:** Provides financial counseling to patients for their services at Essentia Health in-person and virtually. Provides assistance with navigating Essentia Health’s payment options, Medicaid eligibility, and financial assistance programs. May also perform self-pay liability price estimates. In addition, this position performs account analysis to evaluate, develop and implement an action plan to educate guarantors and help resolve their financial responsibilities. This position may also be required to assist with patient phone inquiries from the Patient Financial Services call center. Qualified candidates will demonstrate a customer service orientation which consistently aims at exceeding patient expectations and contributes positively to the greater working environment. **Education Qualifications:** Key Responsibilities: + Knowledge in registration, coding, insurance billing and payment methodology, self-pay collections, and exceptional customer service skills Educational Requirements: + Some trade course classes in accounting, business, and/or communications would be very beneficial in this position Required Qualifications: + 2 years of experience in Financial Counseling, Self-Pay Collections, Call Center, Billing and/or Health Care **Licensure/Certification Qualifications:** Minimum of a high school education.
