JOB SUMMARY
The Patient Flow Enhancer – Emergency Services works under the direct supervision of the ED charge nurse and triage nurse, responsible for assisting with direct and indirect care as directed. Assists with such tasks as cleaning, stocking, patient transport, quality managements data entry, typing, assisting with patients/families with comfort needs, assisting with patient specimen collection and completion of various paperwork.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: High school graduate or completion of GED.
Preferred/Optional: Completion of an EMT program or equivalent level of completion in an LPN or RN program. Nursing Assistant training program or other healthcare training program will be considered.
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Minimum Required: Demonstrates excellence in customer service & professional conduct. Follows directions accurately. Evidence of good health & professional appearance. Able to cooperate with & under direction of others. Must have good communication skills & able to relate effectively/ kindly to patients & families. Able to keep accurate records & have good clerical & numeric perception.
Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of all patient encounters/patient records. Must be able to work in a high stress/high volume environment. Must demonstrate personal qualities such as kindness, maturity, sense of responsibility, empathy, initiative, and honesty.
Preferred/Optional: Current Emergency experience preferred if no Emergency experience, then experience in the health care delivery setting as a CENA, EMT or Paramedic is preferred. HUC experience preferred. Word processing experience.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: BCLS within 30 days of hire.
